Superabsorbent resin (SAP) is a kind of water swelling polymer containing carboxyl group and other strong hydrophilic groups and has a certain degree of crosslinking, has a strong water absorption and water retention ability. High water absorption resin water absorption, up to hundreds of times its own mass, water absorption speed, and strong water retention, even under heat, pressure conditions are not easy to lose water. SAP is widely used in personal care products such as disposable diapers, adult incontinence products and women's hygiene products due to its good water absorption, moderate price and good safety performance.
Superabsorbent resin is a network of three dimensional cross-linked polymeric chains. Its water absorption is formed by weak chemical bonding and chemical adsorption. The superabsorbent resin is a kind of polymer electrolyte. The interaction between ions produced after ionization in water causes the resin to swell. Moreover, with the increase of the concentration of ions inside the resin, the concentration difference between the resin and the outside solution results in reverse osmosis, which makes the water further enter the resin. The amount of water absorbed by SAP depends on the amount of osmotic pressure generated between the polymer electrolyte and water, until the osmotic pressure is balanced with the elastic force of the polymer network.Superabsorbent resin (SAP) is a kind of water swelling polymer containing carboxyl group and other strong hydrophilic groups and has a certain degree of crosslinking, has a strong water absorption and water retention ability.
