The anionic polyacrylamide (APAM) could be used in the applications involving in the mining industry, the ore dressing industry and the metallurgy industry etc. By using the anionic polyacrylamide product, it could promote the efficiency of the flocculating process and the sedimentation process of the active solid particles in the water, or, to speed up the concentration process of the fine particles, thus, to improve the effects of the separation of the solids from the liquid, that will reduce the lose of the tailing and reduce the environmental pollution, and that will lower down the production cost etc.
Under the normal circumstances of the mining processing and treatment, it requires the anionic olyacrylamide product with the higher molecular weight. High molecular weight anionic polyacrylamide product can guarantee the high speed of the sedimentation, can achieve the better result of the centrifugal effect, and can make the better economic benefits.
1.In the coal industry
When the coal is exploited, the coal will be sorted out and be classified in accordance with the classification of the different particle size. According to the different proportion, the coal particles and the impurities inside will be separated naturally in the aqueous medium, the coal particles could float in the upper part of the liquid, while the impurities will sink to the bottom. After the treatment and the classification of the coal particles, the final coal product will be achieved.
In the above procedure, the fine coal powder will be generated, which needs the further treatment process to get them recycled. Normally, the floatation technology is introduced to finalize this further treatment process, that is to add the high efficient anionic polyacrylamide flocculant and the coagulant aids, which is to improve the efficiency of the separation of the coal particles and the impurities, as a result, the fine coal powder will be floated out while the tailing and other impurities will be sunk down. After the further sedimentating process , the filtering process or the centrifugal process, the fine coal powder is recycled, while in this process, the anionic polyacrylamide porduct could work as the high efficient flocculant to promote the separation of the solid particles and the liquid. After that, the fine coal powder need to be treatment again in the thickener with further filtering process and the centrifugal process, while in this process, the anionic polyacrylamide products will be added once again to be worked as the high efficient flocculant.
2.In the gold and silver mining process
After the mineral ore is crushed and screened, it will be ground more in the grinding machine with the water and the calcareousness which will be added in the grinding machine along with the mineral ore, and then afterwards the mineral ore will be put into the thickener for the sedimentation process. In this stage, the anionic polyacrylamide products could be added and used to promote the efficient deposit of the solid particles, at the same time on the bottom of the grinding machine, there are a series of filter cells to get them be filtered. The anionic polyacrylamide flocculant will be added into the thickener before the filtering process.
3. In the lead and zinc mining process
In the separating process of the lead and the zinc in the zinc sulfide minerals, the mineral ore is oxidized to the zinc oxide by the calcination firstly. Afterwards, this oxide will be leached with the sulfuric acid. The neutral filtrate at PH value 5 and the acidic filtrate at PH value 2.5 can make all concentrate be dissolved in the sulfuric acid. Some concentrators increase a heat concentration process to improve the recovery rate. The inverse reflux settlement system is usually used for the the overflow neutral enrichment purification.
In the zinc and lead filtration process, the use of the anionic polyacrylamide flocculant could promote the subsidence speed of the minerals and can promote the clarification of the filtrate, it can also improve the production efficiency in this process and reduce the loss of the minerals during the production.
4.In the alumina mining process
In the alumina mining processing, the mineral ore will be firstly crushed into the fine particles of less than 1 mm size, and then, add the concentrated sodium hydroxide, along with the high temperature and the high pressure. In the highly corrosive liquid, the aluminum substance will be dissolved completely, except the soluble silicon, the other impurities will not be dissolved. After this process, the gravel along with the other concentrated and precipitated pulp will be removed. It is a very important process to get the clarified overflow, that is to add and use the anionic polyacrylamide flocculant in the primary thickening tank. The underflow in the concentrator, that is the red mud, will be treated through a reverse backflow settlement process. In this settlement process, the aluminum in the liquid will be recycled in the sedimentation pool after a series of washing process. At this stage, the anionic polyarylamide products will be added andused again to promote the rapid subsidence and to get the clarified overflow which can meet the technical requirements. The primary concentrated overflow which has the rich aluminum will be filtered, and be cooled for forty eight hours, the aluminum hydrate will be added into the overflow to promote the sedimentation of the trihydrate aluminum. And then, the aluminum will be obtained after the filtering, the washing and the calcination.
